Who Knew Leo Had A Thing For Red Heels!!

Dorothy's ruby slippers have found a new home.

In a Wednesday announcement, the Academy cites Leonardo DiCaprio as the primary benefactor.
"Leo's passionate leadership has helped us bring home this legendary piece of movie history," said Academy CEO Dawn Hudson. "It's a wonderful gift to the Academy museum project, and a perfect representation of the work we do year-round to preserve and share our film heritage."

Walt Disney CEO and chair of the capital campaign for the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures Bob Iger echoed Hudson's sentiments. "The ruby slippers occupy an extraordinary place in the hearts of movie audiences the world over," he said. "This is a transformative acquisition for our collection."

DiCaprio led the group of donors that enabled the purchase, which was brokered by auction house Profiles in History. Steven Spielberg and LACMA co-char Terry Semel were also among those involved.
These particular slippers, which many think were worn by Garland during close-ups, insert shots and the famous heel-clicks back to Kansas, bounced private collections, including costumer Kent Warner's, after being stored in MGM's Culver City lot for the three decades following Oz's production.

Rhys Thomas, author of The Ruby Slippers of Oz, called them "the holy grail of all Hollywood Memorabilia" in a statement from the auction house. "Of the four pairs of authentic ruby slippers known to exist, this pair offered by Profiles in History, marked '#7 Judy Garland' and known as the 'Witch's Shoes,' are the most important and most valuable," he added.

They are expected to go on display at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures when it eventually takes residency in Wilshire's May Company building.

Lack of posts here lately

I want to take the time and apologize for the lack of posts, nearly all of it is because between my crowded school schedule and not feeling well for the last two to three weeks.  First it was the horrible migranes I have not been able to shake for three weeks now.  I go next Friday for an MRI/CAT Scan and am hoping for the best.  I think the test is a precautionary step considering the "non-cancerous, long term progressive AIDS' spots were spotted last April.  It does have me worried to say the least.  Will try to keep all of you posted.  Hopefully you will stay faitfhful and read, and hopefully you all enjoy what I am trying to do here.

This whole thing along with some other very personal things have me very seriously depressed, but somehow I try to but on a very brave front that I wonder if people are beginning to see through as I have had some moments were my judgement has well been judged.  It has been anything serious but I do take it very seriously as I don;t want to come off as an uncaring, brute who doesn;t have a brain in his head and well I know otherwise but I do wonder if I try to hard to be a "moral upstanding person".

The homework load this semester has been brutal and my life the last weeks have been basically that and I do at times try to conserve my energies but again I do wonder if it is getting the best of me.  At least I have this to put a voice to my frustrations and let things off my chest and for that I am thankful.

For Valentine's Day; "The Crooked Road"

“The Crooked Road”

Of deep unspoken longings dare I say
To but gaze upon you across the distance
Of masculine marble like manly flesh
Oh to taste his sweet savory dew like kisses
Of the pale violet sun light on Christopher Street in New York City

To hold is hand in mine
The private musical of us in my mind
The smell of ruggedness as sweet perfume
Of what could be the quiet joy of brotherhood
Let him just once kiss me on Halstead Street in New York City
With the touch of his lips

My own warrior rebel
That our desire should be shared could
Lead to our wholeness once out of Eden’s gate
Fairytales do come true on Castro Street in San Francisco
Guide my heart out of my desert of loneliness

Once I’ve tasted his sweet savory kisses
Some say rebellion began
Hearts filled with the camp of Christmas
Can what we share be but higher law
Would the fruit of this be sweet to taste

The pinnacle of spirit on Fire Island
To be but more than friends dare I say
To desire the crooked road
To our iniquities den in Hell’s Kitchen in the New York City ghetto

Passion flung out of eternal fires
My soft beautiful vaporous being
Bitter bitchy queens at the door mocking
That this feeling is mine and I am his
With no doubt or uncertainty at all

This is self written and my special Valentine to all of you my readers

Whitney Houston HAS DIED!

The The Associated Press is reporting that Whitney Houston, who reigned as pop music’s queen until her majestic voice and regal image were ravaged by drug use, has died at age 48.

Publicist Kristen Foster said Saturday that the singer had died, but the cause and the location of her death were unclear.

Whitney who was the only artist to chart seven consecutive No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 hits (“Saving All My Love for You”, “How Will I Know”, “Greatest Love of All”, “I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)”, “Didn’t We Almost Have It All”, “So Emotional”, and “Where Do Broken Hearts Go”). She won multiple Grammys including album and record of the year.

In January 2010, Houston was nominated for two NAACP Image Awards, one for Best Female Artist and one for Best Music Video. She won the award for Best Music Video for her single “I Look to You.” On January 16, she received the BET Honors Award for Entertainer citing her lifetime achievements spanning over 25 years in the industry.

In May 2011, Houston enrolled once again in drug rehabilitation center, as an out-patient, citing drug and alcohol problems after an over decade long fight. A representative for Houston said that it was a part of Houston’s “longstanding recovery process.”

A great voice and talent ruined and lost.

May you rest in peace Whitney

Four Gay Fashion Designers And Their Boy-Toy Boyfriends

Once upon a time, you couldn’t be an out homosexual even in a tres-gay profession like fashion. Seriously—designers had to either marry or present themselves as fussy confirmed bachelors. (Even Calvin Klein tied the knot with a lady person.)

Nowadays, its assumed if you putting clothes on the runway, you’re putting your pecker in some dude. Even Millionaire Matchmaker Patti Stanger wants to set Tom Ford and Marc Jacobs up together. (America’s Next Top Model Jay Manuel thinks that’d be a disaster. He told Queerty, “[Tom’]s so particular and fussy, and between him and Marc Jacobs, the two of them, such control freaks—it wouldn’t work.”)

New York Fashion Week just kicked off—and Valentine’s Dayis right around the corner—so we decided to take a look at five top New York designers and the sexy younger dudes they’ve shared their bed with.

Marc Jacobs is notorious for serially dating PYTs (pretty young things). After a stint in rehab—and a full body transformation—he dated onetime escort Jason Preston (above left) who tattooed the designer’s name on his arm. After that relationship cooled, Jacobs was linked to hunky advertising executive Lorenzo Martone.

It was hot and heavy by all accounts, with rumors of marriage proposals, but it allegedly ended in the summer of 2010—though Jacobs told Vogue, “We speak to each other, I don’t know, six times a day.” In December, Jacobs was seen courting Brazilian porn star Harry Louis (above right) in Paris, but that may have been a passing fancy.

Does Jacobs change hotties every season? No, but he does like to mix and match and go retro, apparently: He and Martone were seen together at a Fashion Week event Wednesday night

Once upon a time famed designer Calvin Klein was married—to a woman named Kelly. (Yes, it’s true!)  These days he’s more open about his same-sex attractions—and his predilection for young porn-star tail. He’s been squiring around former NextDoorMale.com star Nick Gruber (a.k.a Aaron Skyline) at least since Gruber’s 21st birthday. There was talk the two had split, but Klein told Page Six recently they’re still going strong.

Teutonic style god Karl Lagerfeld doesn’t mince words when it comes to his opinions—he recently called out Adele for being “a little too fat”—but he’s a little closer-to-the-vest when it comes to his men. He’s been connected to his “muse,” 23-year-old Baptiste Giabiconi, whom he described as a boy version of Gisele Bündchen: “skinny, skinny but with an athletic body—good for clothes.” There was even a rumor they were gonna be married this summer, but we’re pretty sure that was a joke. The detail about Lagerfeld ditching Chanel and moving to Vermont was kind of a giveaway.

We wouldn’t put Michael Kors in the same category as Jacobs, Lagerfeld and Klein. First off, Kors and his honey, Lance LaPere, have been together for 20 years (or a century in gay years). Secondly, yes, LaPere’s younger than Kors (he started as the designer’s intern in 1990) but he’s old enough to have been in a relationship for 20 years.

And lastly, the two made it legal last year. “Lance and I are very excited to finally be able to have the opportunity to marry in our home state after many years together,” Kors announced. ” Oh god—we wouldn’t know what to wear to the ceremony!

Two Boys Murdered Because You Want to Get Married

westboro batist church protests powell funeral, protests at powell funeral, westboro baptist church in washington, westboro baptist church protests washington gay marriageBy now it’s no surprise that the anti-gay extremists at Westboro Baptist Church picket funerals. But I can’t lie when I say that I amshocked, disgusted, and saddened by WBC’s plans to protest at the funeral of two Washington boys who were murdered by their father. Their reason? Gay marriage.
Come again?

Apparently Washington’s Wednesday vote to legalize gay marriage was enough to cause the boys’ father Josh Powell to murder his two sons Charlie, 7, and Braden, 5, and then blow up all three of them up in a gasoline-fueled inferno last Sunday. After all, he was an anti-gay psychic, right?

Let’s just be clear in case there was any doubt: The Powell boys were not murdered as a demonstration of God’s disapproval of gay marriage in Washington State. Not at all. That doesn’t happen. That idea is dumb. It’s just really, really dumb, for real.

Joking aside and disregarding the complete stupidity that is the Westboro Baptist Church’s logic, the situation is tragic. The boys lived with their grandparents after their mother went missing in 2009. Their father was in the midst of seeking child custody. Records show Josh Powell sent goodbye emails minutes before a social worker dropped the boys off for the visit that ended their lives.

Margie Phelps, daughter of the founder of WBC and never one to be sensitive to… well, anything, tweeted that the protest will also be a demonstration for Governor Christine Gregoire who announced her support for marriage equality and is expected to sign the law next week.

“You see friends, our job is to show his nation its sins. #GettingYourAttention” Phelps tweeted this afternoon.

No, Margie. Your job is to stay the hell out of this funeral and let families grieve a tragic loss.
Good riddance. What do you think about this “demonstration?” Vent your outrage in the comments.

Cleveland Gay Couple Claims Police Officers Beat, Humiliated And Denied Them Pants Due To Sexual Orientation

Fox 8 News reports that Jonathan Simcox and his partner Steven Ondo are claiming they were subjected to "excessive force and undisguised prejudice" in April of last year, after an off-duty Cleveland police officer confronted them when they were in the midst of an argument.

As Towleroad, Queerty and other outlets are reporting, Simcox told the site, "He came out over shouting, saying, 'Shut up, you`re disturbing the peace.' I pushed to get past him, as soon as I did that he knocked me on the ground, and just started beating me, hitting me, standing over top of me, and punching me repeatedly."
Though no charges were initially filed, the couple were awoken at their home a week later by "six or seven members of the SWAT/and or Warrant team," who hauled them off to jail in their underwear on charges of assaulting a police officer. Once in jail, Simcox claims they were called "faggots" by officers, who did not permit them to get dressed because "faggots don't deserve to wear pants in jail."

Simcox and Ondo have since filed a federal lawsuit against several officers in light of the incidents

Miley Cyrus Writes Gay Marriage Column for Glamour Magazine

miley cyrus gay marriage glamour magazine, miley gay marriage glamour, miley cyrus gay column glamour, miley cyrus gay marriage op-ed
She's just being Miley.
Miley Cyrus’ op-ed column in the March issue of Glamour Magazine explains why for her, gay marriage is a no-brainer. Sure, it reads like it was written by someone who spent her formative years in a blonde wig and pleather everything instead of in a classroom, but her earnest support for our personal liberties is of course appreciated.

Miley writes:

Imagine finding someone you love more than anything in the world, who you would risk your life for but couldn’t marry. And you couldn’t have that special day the way your friends do—you know, wear the ring on your finger and have it mean the same thing as everybody else. Just put yourself in that person’s shoes. It makes me feel sick to my stomach.

When I shared a picture of my tattoo on my Twitter page and said, “All LOVE is equal,” a lot of people mocked me—they said, “What happened to you? You used to be a Christian girl!” And I said, “Well, if you were a true Christian, you would have your facts straight. Christianity is about love.” The debate resulted in a lot of threats and hate mail to people who agreed and disagreed with me. At one point I had to say, “Dude, everyone lay off.” Can’t people have friendly debates about sensitive topics without it turning into unnecessary threats?

I believe every American should be allowed the same rights and civil liberties. Without legalized same-sex marriage, most of the time you cannot share the same health benefits, you are not considered next of kin and you are not granted the same securities as a heterosexual couple. How is this different than having someone sit in the back of the bus because of their skin color?
She goes on and on. You can read the column in full at Glamour.com or just pick up the March issue when it hits newstands.

Activism looks good on you, girl. Let’s see some more of it.

What do you think of Miley’s marriage memo?
Oscar nominee Jean Durardin in one of the posters for his new film "Les Infideles" that were pulled yesterday due to concerns of tasteWhat does it take to shock in the land of the Gallic shrug? Ads that suggest adulterous oral sex, according to complaints about new movie "Les Infideles."

Posters for the film - which show the contented male stars with faceless women in submissive positions - went up Tuesday but were being taken down Friday following a request from France’s self-regulating advertising body.

In one poster, actor and comedian Jean Dujardin stands between a pair of upside-down bare female legs, clutching them. In another, the back of a woman’s head is waist high to actor Gilles Lellouche, who is on his cell phone. Her hands stretch up to his chest and a quotation over his head reads: "It’s going to cut off. I’m going into a tunnel."

"We could see that this campaign didn’t respect (the rules) with the sexually explicit positions, the play on words ... the boundaries were crossed," said Stephane Martin, the head of the Authority of Professional Regulation of Advertising.

Some French newspapers have suggested the ads could even cost Dujardin - nominated for an Academy Award for his role in the silent hit film "The Artist"- the Oscar.

They at least appear to have hit a raw nerve in a land with fresh memories of the scandal of last year’s arrest of potential presidential contender Dominique Strauss-Kahn on charges of attempted rape.

JC Decaux, the outdoor advertising company that hung the posters, conceded they weren’t in "good taste" and they would all be down by the end of the day.

French actor Gilles Lellouche in one of the posters for the film ""Les Infideles" that have been pulled because of questions of taste.
They have been replaced by a third poster, where the male leads sit and laugh as two sexily clad women walk away.

"We already refused other visuals for this film that seemed unpublishable to us," the company said in a statement - without elaborating on what those images contained.

To some, the rumblings may indicate a post-Strauss-Kahn shift in French mores. When the former head of the International Monetary Fund was arrested last year in New York - on charges later dropped - it set off soul-searching in a country known as a beacon for the sexually liberated and for its acceptance of extramarital affairs. Had the posters revived questions over whether France’s reputed sexual liberation is a one-way street and largely disenfranchising to women?

Not quite, according to Osez le Feminisme, a French feminist organization. Magali Dehaas, a spokeswoman for the group, said that while she hoped the incident would prompt a rethink about sexism in advertising, she feared that the images shocked more for their sexually explicit content than for their depiction of women. She said Strauss-Kahnn’s arrest may have started the wheels turning, but "we have a lot of work to do in that department."

Sure enough, on the streets of Paris, some were left scratching their heads over why the ads had caused such a stir, given that French advertising is no foreigner to the racy. Yogurt is sold by bare-chested women on mainstream TV and a current ad pretends to show a man and woman having sex in the middle of their open-plan office - until we learn he is just applying a hot compress to her back.

"I am more shocked by the fact that the billboard was changed, because for me, there was nothing shocking," said Corinne Maugrenier, 37, as the posters came down Friday. "I think that we are moving toward a puritan system as in the United States."

French newspapers were suggesting Friday that Dujardin might lose his Oscar to the stunt.

"America doesn’t kid at all with these kind of dirty photos," Le Parisien wrote.

Le Figaro suggested that those promoting rival actors might "play on the Puritanism" of the Academy’s members to discredit Dujardin in the notoriously fierce competition.

The company that distributes the film in France, Mars Distribution, did not respond to requests for comment. A spokeswoman for Dujardin and the film also declined.

Canadian LGBT history was made today as the first “official” gay college fraternity in Canada opened today at Montreal’s McGill University.

Canadian LGBT history was made today as the first “official” gay college fraternity in Canada opened today at Montreal’s McGill University.

The new frat, Delta Lambda Phi, will accept gay and bisexual men as well as any other men that want to join. It is one of 32 chapters and colonies of Delta Lambda Phi but is the first born outside of the United States.  And surprisingly Delta Lambda Phi is not under fire by conservatives on campus but by McGill’s University own LGBT group over the wording of an email sent out by DLP to recruit members and the frat invited all males or individuals who self-identify as male to join  which Queer McGill told the Toronto Star it believes the language separating “males” and “those who identify as male” implies that transgendered individuals are somehow not real men.

Regardless, DLP is actually a US college fraternity with a membership of gay, straight and bisexual men. Otherwise it’s similar to other Greek college frats. It was founded in 1986 by Vernon L Strickland III in Washington, DC. DLP is ast-growing in the US, where there are 28 gay fraternities on various college campuses. McGill is the first DLP chapter to be chartered outside the US.

Like other fraternities DPL will do charitable works, although drinking is put off until after meetings and members are discouraged from dating one another

But I am sure Rush Week must be sinmply FABULOUS!
Go DLP!  Rah Rah Rah!
