Who's who in Fashion---Cameron Silver

Continuing with my weekly post, from an idea I had at the first of the year after reading "The Little Black Book of Style"by Nina Garcia I cam up with a list of 30 fashionable people in her book I had never heard of.  Thinking if I had never heard of them you hadn't either.  Here we are unto our third person in that list---- CAMERON SILVER

Named one of Time magazine’s “25 Most Influential Names and Faces in Fashion” in 2002, Cameron Silver has a Midas touch when it comes to fashion. He’s dressed A-list celebrities such as Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Lopez and Renee Zellweger in upscale vintage designs and contributes to Harpers Bazaar UK, C Magazine, and Departures. Cameron owns the vintage couture boutique Decades on Melrose and co-owns Decadestwo, the 21st Century Designer Consignment store. Decades also has a branch in London within Dover Street Market. Since 2004, Cameron has been the Creative Consultant to the French fashion house Azzaro, which has recently enjoyed a renaissance. At Azzaro, Cameron works with Creative Director Vanessa Seward on the collection’s design, research, and development, as well as initiating and maintaining the brand’s triumphant red carpet dressing of celebrities. In March 2007, he served as Creative Consultant for the global launch of Samsonite’s iconic Fashionaire collection. Decades and Decadestwo were awarded “Retailer of the Year” at the 2006 LA Fashion Awards. In May 2007, Cameron received the “Fashion for Life” award benefiting Friendly House.

When Cameron Silver left a successful concert career and opened the doors of Decades Inc, the uber glam vintage boutique on Melrose, he did not expect the business to last more than a decade. Now, 12 years later, the store is not only Hollywood's preferred source of Red Carpet gowns, it is the premier spot for vintage couture for socialites around the world with no sign of slowing down!

At the heart of the business is Silver himself, a dapper and handsome figure with a deep smoothing voice. Discussing vintage couture (especially Hermes) with him is a real treat as he is truly the world's expert on all things vintage!
