Four Gay Fashion Designers And Their Boy-Toy Boyfriends

Once upon a time, you couldn’t be an out homosexual even in a tres-gay profession like fashion. Seriously—designers had to either marry or present themselves as fussy confirmed bachelors. (Even Calvin Klein tied the knot with a lady person.)

Nowadays, its assumed if you putting clothes on the runway, you’re putting your pecker in some dude. Even Millionaire Matchmaker Patti Stanger wants to set Tom Ford and Marc Jacobs up together. (America’s Next Top Model Jay Manuel thinks that’d be a disaster. He told Queerty, “[Tom’]s so particular and fussy, and between him and Marc Jacobs, the two of them, such control freaks—it wouldn’t work.”)

New York Fashion Week just kicked off—and Valentine’s Dayis right around the corner—so we decided to take a look at five top New York designers and the sexy younger dudes they’ve shared their bed with.



Marc Jacobs is notorious for serially dating PYTs (pretty young things). After a stint in rehab—and a full body transformation—he dated onetime escort Jason Preston (above left) who tattooed the designer’s name on his arm. After that relationship cooled, Jacobs was linked to hunky advertising executive Lorenzo Martone.

It was hot and heavy by all accounts, with rumors of marriage proposals, but it allegedly ended in the summer of 2010—though Jacobs told Vogue, “We speak to each other, I don’t know, six times a day.” In December, Jacobs was seen courting Brazilian porn star Harry Louis (above right) in Paris, but that may have been a passing fancy.

Once upon a time famed designer Calvin Klein was married—to a woman named Kelly. (Yes, it’s true!)  These days he’s more open about his same-sex attractions—and his predilection for young porn-star tail. He’s been squiring around former NextDoorMale.com star Nick Gruber (a.k.a Aaron Skyline) at least since Gruber’s 21st birthday. There was talk the two had split, but Klein told Page Six recently they’re still going strong.



Teutonic style god Karl Lagerfeld doesn’t mince words when it comes to his opinions—he recently called out Adele for being “a little too fat”—but he’s a little closer-to-the-vest when it comes to his men. He’s been connected to his “muse,” 23-year-old Baptiste Giabiconi, whom he described as a boy version of Gisele Bündchen: “skinny, skinny but with an athletic body—good for clothes.” There was even a rumor they were gonna be married this summer, but we’re pretty sure that was a joke. The detail about Lagerfeld ditching Chanel and moving to Vermont was kind of a giveaway.



We wouldn’t put Michael Kors in the same category as Jacobs, Lagerfeld and Klein. First off, Kors and his honey, Lance LaPere, have been together for 20 years (or a century in gay years). Secondly, yes, LaPere’s younger than Kors (he started as the designer’s intern in 1990) but he’s old enough to have been in a relationship for 20 years.

And lastly, the two made it legal last year. “Lance and I are very excited to finally be able to have the opportunity to marry in our home state after many years together,” Kors announced. ” Oh god—we wouldn’t know what to wear to the ceremony!

Well, if you remember right I posted awhile back that Clavin Klein had found love--well kids it looks like it migh be over!  It doesn’t look like Calvin Klein is going to throw his porn-star-turned-underwear-model boyfriend Nick Gruber a big party for his birthday later this month, like he did last year at Nick’s 21st. Calvin, 67, has gone “on a break” with his 21-year-old boy toy Nick, today’s Daily News tells us.

Klein has often been spotted out and about without Gruber recently—who was usually at his side since the relationship began in spring 2010. Heck, our anti-social ass even spotted Calvin sans son garçon in a West Village cafe just last Friday.

Calvin is still keeping in shape, too. He brushed off friends’ concerns about a recently injured shoulder and left them to head to the gym.

Gay party promoter and ex-Playgirl marketing chief Daniel Nardicio tells Queerty that, despite the 46-year age difference, Nick says they’re in love and “wants to spend the rest of his life with [Calvin].” He hears Calvin says the same.

Nardicio, however, laid out the terms that everyone has suspected: “If there is a break-up, I would imagine it’d be on Calvin’s part, as he holds the pursestrings.”
Gruber and Klein have been living together for more than a year at Calvin’s West Village apartment. It’s unclear whether Nick has moved out or what prompted the split.

Hidetoshi Nakata, Cavaliere OSSI (中田 英寿, Nakata Hidetoshi, born January 22, 1977 in Yamanashi Prefecture, is a retired Japanese football player. He was one of the most famous Asian footballers of his generation.

Ok kid's hot off the ole gossip pages is the smoking HOT story of Calvin Klein and his new "boyfriend", my post will include the rather risque photographs of Nick so if this is not your cup of tea you may want to skip it.  But for those of you who will read, he is a very good looking fellow of 20 who happens to model Jockey Underwear.

 Earlier this summer, reporters started seeing pictures of designer Calvin Klein trotting around town with a 20-year-old model named Nick Gruber. Reporters couldn't find much information on Gruber, but it looks like we finally found his very revealing modeling portfolio.

Klein, 67, was first photographed with the blond boytoy as early as May and the pair have since been seen at a number of movie premieres and charity events in Manhattan and the Hamptons. Last week, Page Six of "Gawker" ran a picture in the paper's print edition of the two men walking in Manhattan and described Gruber as Klein's "partner." Looks like they know something about their relationship that we don't.

But reporters did manage to find Gruber's Facebook page (where he goes by "Nick Oo") and his profile on ModelMayhem.com, which is like MySpace for prospective models and the photographers who want to hire them. (He goes by the name "Nick London" on that site.) [Update: He's since deleted his ModelMayhem profile.]

Based on his Facebook page, Nick is from Crystal River, Florida, graduated high school last year, and is currently enrolled at Santa Rosa Junior College north of San Francisco. [Note: At least that's what he claims. Reporters don't believe all the info he posted to Facebook is true.] He's friends with the general assortment of young ladies and hot gay guys one would expect of a handsome young dude. But he's also friends with a gay pornographer named Blue Blake. Hmm, how did that happen?

For me this story was not such a huge shock as Calvin has gone on record and dated a fellow before marrying his second wife--he and his boyfriend then inthe 1980's bought the home in the Hampton's.  How do I know this, I did a report on Calvin Klein when I attended Virginia Marti College in Lakewood around the time Klien had a store at Tower City in downtown Cleveland.  This of course was during the "Marky" Mark Wahlberg underwear ad campaign.  My only thought on this one is very simply, what do the two have in common?  Now I know many of you are going to point out that Jim and I have our share of years between us but kids it is not no 47 years between us.  Hell for that matter what would I have in common in dating a 20 year old fellow?  Maybe I am wrong here and probably am, but I would LOVE to hear what you all think on this matter.  Do the same ideas apply when the older man is dating a younger man as when an older woman dates a younger man and an older man dates a younger woman?  Very curious thought huh?

Speaking of adult content, Nick's modeling portfolio includes shoots with both Rick Day and Edendale Studios, photographers known for their images of naked men in various states of undress (and arousal). Reporters contacted Rick Day to find out more and a rep told them that Nick London hired them to take pictures for his portfolio (which they said can cost $750 and up, not a small sum for a 20-year-old college student), although they also said they didn't know anything about Nick's connection to Calvin Klein.

So are Nick Oo, Nick London and Nick Gruber one and the same? The pictures suggest as much, although reporters can't say for certain. But it certainly fits with Klein's longstanding habit of dating strapping young models. But what's Nick doing mocking up photos of himself for rival underwear company Jockey? Klein better smarten up and get his man in some tighty whities and put him on a billboard already!
