Madonna Asked About Beating Elton John for the Golden Globe

Madonna, winner of Best Song at the Golden Globes for "Masterpiece" from the W.E. soundtrack, was asked many questions when she got backstage after winning her Golden Globe.

Do you still use Pilates to stay in shape? Who's the first person you're going to call? What is something you never travel without? Who is your style icon and what item in your closet can you not live without? Why is this one of the most creative times in your career? What inspires you?

The new album and the Super Bowl?

Well I did a good majority of the record with Martin Solveig, who is a DJ/producer. I love his sound, it’s really fresh. It doesn’t sound like anybody else’s. He’s brilliantly talented. Happy, I would say his music is happy. It puts a smile on your face and I hope my record does that too. I collaborated again with William Orbit who tends to make me more introspective and a bit… I don’t know… His songs tend to be… I don’t want to say dark, but more thoughtful and introspective. It’s a good combination of the light and the dark. Oh yes, lots of dancing, cheerleading, football players… you name it!"
How does it feel to beat Elton John (whose sour face upon the announcement of the winner was the topic of much conversation online)?

"I hope he speaks to me for the next couple of years. He's known to get mad at me...He's brillant and I adore him, so, he'll win another award. I don't feel bad."

Religious Right: Super Bowl Halftime Show Presents the Wrong Madonna

"LifeSiteNews, a religious right wing website, attacked the 2012 Super Bowl halftime because Xtra, a Canadian LGBT news site, says the event "will go down in history as the gayest Super Bowl halftime show ever."

The halftime show will feature a performance by pop star icon Madonna as well as a Jamie King-directed Cirque du Soleil act. Last year, more than 162 million people watched the halftime show, making it the most-watched musical event.

The website warns parents about Madonna’s "provocative approach to entertainment" and that the singer has "mocked Christian signs and symbols including Christ’s crucifixion." In addition, LifeSiteNews claims that the superstar’s "music, lifestyle and role-modeling is contrary to traditional family values."

I have been anxiously waiting to see this movie and now rumors have it that it will be pushed back to February so that it doesn't get lost in all of the other biopics that are coming out this holiday season.  What do you think about this movie by Madonna?  Does it seem like to many "English" inspired movies here lately?

Lady Gaga: March US Vogue

Well once again the media machine is in a tail spin over the ever fabulous Lady Gaga.  Of course there is all this talk about the newest release "Born This Way".  Most people love it or hate it, some are even comparing it to some of Madonna's earliest work.  While for me I can see some comparison Lady Gaga and her songs stand fully on their own.  But that is just my opinion.  You can find the Youtube post of what the song sounds like here along with the lyrics. I mean after all "don't be a drag..."

Anyway the March USA issue of Vogue has her imperial Gaga-ness on the cover in a dutch boyesque pink wig.  While I love the wig, the no eyebrow thing is a little off for me, I am not sure exactly why but it just sits kind of funny. I know my thing and not everybody elses thing---moving on.  My favorite photographs though have to be of her wearing Alexander McQueen in the "garden settings".  Those pictures leave this Gaga worshipping gay boy speechless and kids that is a hard thing to do at times .  Know all I have to do is get her first two CD's ---anybody have any idea when the newest  CD is out?

Thought for the day

Well today was another one of my crash days.  School, home, bed for 4 hours it just seems to happen everynow and then. I hate Fibromyalgia at times, really I do. Finals week is next week so there seems to be a lot of pressure this week with trying to get everything done, personally I will be gald when it is all over.  I really am going to need the break and spend some time doing something I really want to do.  I have some sewing I want to do, some painting and a room I would like to wallpaper.

Fashion wise its all I think about, all the time, fromt he minute I get up to the minute I fall asleep.  Have really been thinking of changing the utter focus to nothing but fashion, but part of me is worried about losing my Oz/Judy readers.  Than again maybe I have already lost them?  I have added direct links to some of my favorite web sites and some new ones I am finding as I would love this to be one of the places you stop when it comes to fashion and especially fashion with a gay flair.

The exquisite photograph is from an advertisment for Louis Vuitton using one of my favorite fashion idols "Madge", as her friends call her, and Madonna to the rest of us.  Personally the photograph is stunning and Madge never looked better.  Tune in tomorrow for another photograph of our Material Girl for Louis Vuitton.
