Britain's Manliest Man Bares All For Elton John Charity

(Thanks to the Advocate for running this story originally) Rugby star Sacha Harding has bared all for a photo shoot for the U.K. magazine Gay Times to support Elton John’s AIDS foundation.

“AIDS is such a devastating disease for so many people around the world and I was honored to get this opportunity to try and do my part to help raise awareness of the disease and ultimately save lives," Harding says.

Last year Harding, who plays with Bedford Blues, was also voted "Britain’s manliest man" after winning a nationwide competition organized by men’s grooming brand the Bluebeards Revenge.

Harding is one of 54 men to appear in the magazine's annual "naked issue." Darren Scott, the editor of Gay Times, says in a statement that he was delighted to feature Harding on the front cover. "How could we not have Britain's manliest man on our cover?" he asks. "Our readers do like their men to be real men! It's an absolute joy to have a straight rugby player be so willing to take part in a shoot for Britain's longest-running gay magazine."

Harding is happy to help a cause he believes in. “I know I’m going to get some stick from the lads at Bedford but it’s all good fun and the whole campaign has a very serious message which needs promoting,” he says.

The Elton John Aids Foundation supports innovative HIV prevention programs, efforts to eliminate stigma and discrimination associated with HIV/AIDS, and direct care and support services for people living with HIV/AIDS.

TODAY: Castro Nude-In

In a pre-Folsom Street Fair event that is sure to draw the scorn of America's wingnuts, a group of male nudists plans to hold a "nude-in" at the corner of Castro and Market streets tomorrow.

George Davis, a 65-year-old nudist best known for his unsuccessful run against Gavin Newsom in the 2007 mayor’s race, said the nude-in is just about letting people know it’s legal to go naked in San Francisco. (He’s right; it’s only illegal if one is aroused.) “You wouldn’t believe how many people don’t know it’s OK to be nude, it’s not illegal,” he said. “It’s just conveying a message that nude is not lewd, that you have a right to be nude. That’s about it.”

Wishing right about now I was living in San Francisco, just saying I would so do this in a NYC second.  If any of my readers attend the even feel free to forward any photographs for possible consideration for use on this blog---be more than happy to give you credit for it.

My kind of football

I know some of these photographs are really soccer, but there are people who feel or believe and yes even think that soccer is football....so with that in mind I thought I would share some of these with all of you who love football season---personally I am a more rugby/soccer, baseball fan even though I don't watch much.

On a personal note, I think Jack is an incredible rolemodel for both gay men and those of us living with HIV/AIDS.  His commitment to educaion, fundraising and visibility are just amazing and he is one ofthesweetest most charming people around bar none.  If i ever had teh chance to meet him personally I would probably just faint but then again I maybe speechless like I was when I met Greg Louganis.  Anyway, my goal is to have a body like that-----when I celebrate 22 years of living with AIDS...I guess i better get training.
