Well my computer guy comes tomorrow to fix my laptop and things should be back to normal for this blog, I am sorry for any inconvenience. I also go tomorrow to a neurologist/fibromyalgia specialist as well and hopefully something will come of the visit in regard to the pain I am in since my trip to the emergency room last week. I ended up dropping my Introduction to Fashion Drawing Class because of the 10 to 11 hour day each Monday and Wednesday would have been. The pain in my chest makes that kind of day impossible to say the very least. At first I saw it as a huge setback but now after thinking about it, I have to take care of myself before anything else, otherwise no classes right?
This afternoon walking to my car in the parking lot at KSU Stark I got rather dizzy (something that last year was rather intruding), lost my balance, while on an icy patch and fell flat on my back. Last thing I needed with this chest pain I know but, everything seems fine. Just really sore, black and blue to a samll degree and of course my ego is more hurt than anything else. I guess it could have been worse right?
I have some things in the work hopefully for here on my blog and I don't want to reveal my cards to soon and jinx anything in the process. Just join me in hoping it all works out. In the meantime thank you for your understanding support and I will see you all tomorrow.
This site is about things I find interesting or feel you should know about--Fashion, men, news, politics, gay awareness issues and above all it's definitely GAY! I am a Kent State University English Major, striving to be a writer, and I am a 40-something Gay man so this should be a really fun visit... grab your favorite cocktail and enjoy reading.

News of the day
Well if you are here in Ohio like I am, you are over all these days of not being over 20 degrees. Can we say frigid beyond words?? Well I have one more final to take and it is tomorrow. College Writing II and its from 1-3. Grades should follow shortly and hopefully I made the Dean's List, G-d knows I worked my butt off. Anyhow keep me in your thoughts as I have to get a doctor's appointment as my chest is just killing me, it is hard at times or at the least painful to breathe and there is moments I can't stop coughing. Here is hoping its not pneumonia.

News of the day
Well I know it has been a few days again but my schedule has been crazy hectic with homework, sewing and of course writing. Only five weeks till the semester is over and golly am I going to need the break. It will be such a relief in a way to have some down time. Focus on some of my own personal and personal art work versus all of this assigned homework and meeting deadlines.
It has been a mixed bag of emotions for me this semsester. The good, the bad, the emotional, the painful, the joyous and I think I am finally getting to the point where I don't have to go into everypainful, good, bad emotion for people to understand what I am saying and thinking because I think we all experience it in our own unique ways in what is our own personal world.
There is a small possibility I will viewthings differentyl this month and here after because I turn forty-four this month and if you read this blog regualrly you know what that means to me. Since all of my gay friends from my twenties are dead from AIDS turning forty-four and the only one to do so from that group it is a milestone of sorts and some persoanl reflection which I am sure I will talk about here.
I do want to thank the over 700 readers I have had since turning 10,000 readers just a few short weeks. It does mean the world to me that so many of you turn to this blog and read. Again I kow I would loveto hear from you my readers in what you would like to see here but for the time being I do believe I have hit on something that does make you come back and read.

News of the day
Well as some of you may notice I decided to add to the side bar--- two new features. The first is a list of what I have currently read and you will find in my personal library beside fashion magazines I subscribe to . I thought there would be interest in what I read and those of you who read this blog often know first hand I would rather read than watch television. All but Oprah, Glee and of course Project Runway.
The other feature I thought all of you my readers would really enjoy is a peek into what has been my most popular posts. It has been interesting to see what you all love reading the most, some of it a little shocking some of it not. You all seemed to love the post on Calvin Klein and Karl Lagerfeld's new boyfriends and maybe it was because I showed them near nude.
Things at school have been rather busy but in all honesty I do love it. Will be posting pictures in the next few days of my Fashion Visuals Project where we had to use a t-shirt and to try to coney a culture. Hopefully I get a good grade.

News of the day
I am sorry not to have posted the last few days but I wasn't exactly feeling all to well. Then you throw in that this last weekend was my crash weekend you begin to understand slightly why I didn't blog. When I wasn't sleeping, I was studying. I think I made up some of the sleep I have lost in the last two weeks, I was just so utterly exhausted.
Sunday afternoon was my big night as I got pinned as an initiate to Phi Sigma Phi the honor's fraternity. It was the whole highlight of my whole week. I stood there slightly crying as I took the oath of secrecy and brotherhood. It made all the work during the Spring Semester feel so worth while. Keep your fingers crossed as I am running for the position of President and Vice President of our Class in the fraternity. Voting I believe is this Sunday.
Needless to say I got no sewing done on the Women of History outfit done and I know I am going to pushed into some real overtime to try to get it done on time. If I could just not feel so tired. It may not end till the end of the semester, because of all the pending work.
Mrs Carr at Kent asked me to participate in an upcoming Coat Challenge in October. We will be designing a Cotton Sateen Coat inspired by Jackie Kennedy Onassis. Not only designing the coat but also a print that will be put on the fabric. I was thrilled to be asked so I said YES!
Well for now that is it, so thank you for this time we had together.

Not much here for me to really talk about. I hated missing Liza on Oprah today as was in class. I did LOVE tonight's new episode of Glee and have all my homework for tomorrow done already. Tomorrow also starts my tutor responsibilities at Mason Elementary. Its part of my College Writing II Class and I am nervous to say the least. Keep me in your thoughts that it all goes well.
Hope you have been enjoying the vintage fashion posts I maybe do some more as I found this great web site with oodles of vintage fashion. I also want to take the time and remind everyone I am on Twitter as well and hopefully in some time I will be doing more there once I get a better system to do it than my current refualr cell phone, keeping my fingers crossed.
Hopefully also tomorrow I can spend a lot of time on the Women in History Fashion Show outfit as I am really nervous about that. In the meantime thanks to all the readers, readership since this new blooger traking thing started has steadily going up every month and I APPRECIATE IT!
I would like to her what you would like to see here as well specific fashion, topics or whatever. After all maybe weboth can grow a little. Well until next time, I am so glad we had this time together

News of the day
Well thankfully I took the time to finally sit down and cut out the majority of the patterns for the Mary Todd Lincoln inspired/recreation dress for the Famous Women Fashion Show in October. Going to work my head off to get it the way I want it to look but in all honesty I know I can and, more than likely will, do it.
In a way this may be the dress that brings back some of my self confidence. I also moved all of the doll boxes out of the sewing room closet andinto the Oz room closet. My fashion books and magazines are now on the shelf in that closet. It will need an additional brace I think to hold the weight. Will have to ask my dad about it when he is out again. Moving those books freed up some shelf space in my sewing room.
I found a clothing rod to put in the closet to hang my own creations plus the few vintage/antique pieces I do not want to cut up. Maybe now I can slowly buy more antque clothing I find intersting and worth having. Of course you all can send me stuff at least 60 years old or more for the small but growing collection. I would be indebted forever. I am especially interested in antique men's clothing and women's 1930's and before as well as couture of course.
If you didn't catch Marth Stewart last night on Hallmark, you kids missed one hell of a show. It was"The Women in Fashion" and the interviews, the clothes and the insight was simply wonderful. If they re-run it you kids need to watch it. Then today on her daytime show Martha had the entire hour about fashion, it was love for me! It did bring up this whole idea, for me anyway, why is it you never hardly see antique men's clothing in antique store or malls or even shows for sale? Pickings are slim kids, maybe these men wore their clothes out. Maybe there is no interest in antique men's clothing. I wonder. What all do you think.
My big passion right now would be vintage bowties. There is something about a man in a bowtie and frankly believe it or not I don't own one. Maybe it should be on my wish list. Well anyway, I am glad we had this time together. Till next time.

News of the day
A rather quiet day with "window" antique shopping in Akron and lunch at Firehouse in Manchester. The Firhouse in Manchester is not quite as good as the one in Zoar, so if you decide to go eat at the one in Zoar. The dress I am working on for a possible upcoming trunk show is coming along nicely and I have the fabric and patterns drafted for the dress for my "Women in History" Fashion Show that the Fashion Student Organization is doing in October.
Between us, I have decided to recreate a dress inspired by Mary Todd Lincoln. The gown all done in black, which of course Mary Todd wore everyday of her life after Abe died till she died. Quite the love story in my opinion, of course Mary Todd also went insane because of her grief. I will try to post pictures as the work progresses as soon as I start it, which will be in the next day or two.
I have been giving some very serious thought about changing the name of the blog again to fit more with what the posts are. I more than likely won't change the web address just the "home page" name. What I am wondering does anybody haveany ideas for a blog name, if I do change.
School is going well over all and I for one am so grateful to be back, I feel more alive if that makes any sense. My Fashion Visuals first project is do, which tomorrow I will post a picture of what I did. I have one more Honor's Frat to check out, but I think I have already made my decision. Was also thinking of adding a side bar with what books I am reading, thought all of you might be interested. What do you think?

News of the day
Well today was my visit to the urologist about my current kidney stone and the whole visit was no more than 6 minutes long. he thing is I am surehe charged Medicaid/Medicare $150, oh well. He believes I will pass it on my own. Drink lots of waterand if the pain gets to unbearable call me sounds like the advice I got at the hospital. Anyway the painkillers keep me pretty groggy and I am somewhat of a space cadet but belive it or not I am geting some work done.
The work that has been is for the most part doll work that I am behind in and I want deperately done before school starts if I can. I am also waiting to hear from a gay fraternity at KSU about Rush Week. It would be nice to make some new friends, and I am really looking forward to school starting. It is going to be nice to be back on campus.
In other news I also got invited to be part The National Society of Leadership and Success, because of my good standing when it comes to my grades. I was very flattered, I don't know that much about it but I am going to do my best to get the most out of it. It's the type of person I am.
I have to admit though I am somewhat blue because the Chesterton, Indiana Wizard of Oz Festival is coming up and I am not able to attendI agreed almost a year ago to give up te festival so I could save the money to study abroad at KSU. I know in the long run it will pay off but I am really going to miss the festival and all of the firends I catch up with at the festival. Oh well, maybe I will hit the lotto and can do both.

News of the day
Well yesterday I went and paid the price difference that my Pell Grant doesn't cover for the summer semester and for me that was nearly $1,700 with the class fees included. Now, I had the money to pay it and it took months to save it, so it made it hard to turn over that kind of money for the classes.
If I have to be honest with you my readers, I have never invested in myself like that before and until two years I wasn't even really capable of saving like that. It took a lot of sacrifice and doing without somethings but it felt rather good to believe in myself enough to invest in myself like that. I felt like I am finally comfortable with who I am and who I want to be and for a person from a domestically violent childhood home , I think that is saying alot. Those of you who have the same background, may understand what I am really trying to say.
If you live in N.E. Ohio like I do then this next part will make some sense, gosh am I over all the rain we have had here lately. It seems like that is all it has done this month is rain, and I am not so sure rain affects Fibromyalgia or not but it seems like this month more than others I have been so stiff, sore and achy it isn't even funny.
Since Saturday I have been on break from school and it has been so very nice to finally spend my day doing things that has sat for months and if the fatigue will ever subside I may get even more done. Been busy working on some work here to earn the money I may need for Fall classes, so its no huge rest.
However, as I said the fatigue the last three days has been really bad. I am laying down in the middle of the day for 4-5 hours but I guess I need the rest. It is hard to lay down at times as I feel like if I didn't lay down I could be so much more productive. Oh well.

News of the day
Well I got my last College Writing 1 paper back I and I am pleased to say I got a B. There were some minor problems with it, that made it the grade it was but overall I think I did well. Today I found out I have a $170 price difference from what I was told would be the cost for the summer semester. Was not looking forward to that at all but will somehow come up with that difference. As of Saturday of last week I did raise the needed $1,500 for summer semester and boy did I work my butt off.
Been trying to get ahold of my student advisor at the Kent campus now for over a week and half to see if she could lift some of the requirements needed for Fall Classes. It isn't anything major as the requirements is simply classes I willbe taking in the summer. Not getting of her is getting really annoying.
Jim re-read the paperwork from the Project Runway application and found out today IF I get accepted to the next round THEY CALL ME. So we all need to send out good karma so they pick up th ephone and call me.
Also found out today that the parking permit for summer is $40 so I need to come up with that as well. Then of course as times roll on cocst for books. So it is going to be lots of doll work and more than likely baby sitting to get the dough.
I would really ask all of you what you would like for me to talk about here, I havenoticed a big surge in readers in the last two months and I am wondering why all of you come here and what you would like for me to talk about. My plan at some point is talk somemore about fashion.
If you noticed I changed some of the stuff on my blog with links and the main discription and I have really been gving thoguht to changing the blog name--more than likely not the web address just the name of it--Not sure. Again would love to hear what you think.'
