Johnny Weir’s New Husband Accused Of Running Investment Scam

While Johnny Weir and his husband Victor Voronov celebrate their one-month wedding anniversary, an anonymous denizen of the Internet, identified only as “Tanrioldu,” is accusing Voronov of running an investment-banking scam in Atlanta.
The detailed accusations, posted on RipoffReport.com, claim that Voronov, now a law-school grad, conned friends into giving him money a few years ago, but made sure not to put anything on paper so that he couldn’t be held accountable.

Victor S. Voronov operated a fraudulent/fake investment company called CIS Capital Holdings from 2007 to 2009. His targets were primarily friends, colleagues, former classmates, roommates, and acquaintances. Using the relationship of trust he had acquired with these people, he would con them into believing that he was running a very successful investment company…

He would also send a fraudulent ‘prospectus’ that detailed the structure of the investment, the type of investments being made, etc. He was very careful not to put any promise of earnings on paper, but would do so at length over the phone or in person. Promises of 25-50% returns in a few months, for example…

Eventually when the investors asked to receive official reports or cash out, they were met with ignored calls and emails and delays. Eventually Mr. Voronov cut off all communication (changed phone numbers, email addresses, blocked users from Facebook, etc.). Many months went by without any response from him regarding the status of the invested money or when the investors could get their money back.

Eventually, one by one, the investors were contacted by phone by Victor Voronov’s father, Anatoly “Tony” Voronov (owner of CIS Ventures, Inc.). Investors were informed that Victor has been admitted to a drug rehabilitation clinic (for addiction to amphetamines) and would not be able to communicate with anyone for 3-6 months. The actual duration of the rehabilitation, according to his father, lasted approximately 9 months at a private drug rehab clinic near Altanta, GA.

Do Tanrioldu’s claims hold any water? When we went to review sites Tan claims that Voronov ran (ciscapitalholdings.com, vicvor.com, stocksfromrussia.com, et al), they were all shut down. Voronov tweeted today that he would be taking “legal action” against the claim.

Tanrioldu claims to be a former friend of Voronov’s but, in an email to Queerty, said he couldn’t reveal any personal details. “I have to remain anonymous because Victor is bullying his victims with threats of defamation lawsuits if we go public about what he has done to us. But I can tell you that he has been reported to the FBI, the Attorney General of NY, the SEC, the Internet Crime Complaint Center, and the RCMP.”

Florida A&M hazing victim was gay, family says, but that's not why he was murdered

Orlando, Fla. — The family of Robert Champion, Jr., the Florida A&M (FAMU) drum major who died after being beaten in a hazing ritual, said they've learned he was gay -- but do not believe the beating death was a hate crime.

Champion died on Nov. 19 after being attacked in a ritual band members called "Crossing Bus C," in which the victim was attacked as he walked to the back of a bus during a trip to a performance.

The family's attorney, Christopher Chestnut, told the FAMUan that his family didn't know he was gay until they started talking with bandmates. But, they want to make sure the crime is not shoved into the category of "hate crime."

"FAMU has a 50-year history of hazing in the band," Chestnut told the FAMUan. "Robert's alternative lifestyle did not define him. He was defined by the fact that he followed the rules and was against hazing."

However, the attorney for band director Julian White is already trying to seize on the issue -- and use it to minimize White's responsibility.

"Assuming that the assertions of the Champion family and their attorney Christopher Chestnut are true, then it is entirely possible that his tragic death was less about any ritualistic hazing and more tantamount to a hateful and fully conscious attempt to batter a young man because of his sexual orientation" Chuck Hobbs said. "As such, the efforts of Dr. White expended to root out and report hazing could not have predicted or prevented such deliberate barbarity."

Elijah Whitney Cohens II reached out and touched someone alright, many someones as Cohen used Gay Sex Chatlines in the Portland OR area to rob at least 4 -6 gay men in a 4 week period between May – June of 2011

Investigators say that Cohen’s tactics and targets varied widely and victims ranged in age from their 20s to 60s.  But after setting a date via phone and meeting-up  Cohen always said he was a police officer — and that he had a gun. (Cohens also had sex with two victims before robbing them.)

Cohen’s even  tracked down one victim at the victim’s apartment, although the victim hadn’t given Cohens his address. Cohens tied him up and walked out with $5,000 worth of the man’s valuables, including a big-screen TV.

Portland police were able to track down Cohens because of DNA he left behind a cigarette the  DNA was matched with a previous sample entered into the state database after Cohens’ previous felony convictions, which include robbery, forgery, assault and burglary.

Cohens pleaded guilty in Multnomah County Circuit Court to first-degree robbery, second-degree robbery, first-degree burglary and criminal impersonation of an officer. Judge Angel Lopez sentenced Cohens to 150 months (14.5 years) in prison and ordered him to pay $7,000 in restitution.

6 Parishioners Dead After Lying Pastor Tells Them They’ve Been Cured of HIV

 

A Sky News undercover investigation has revealed that evangelical churches in the UK have been lying to HIV positive patients about the curative powers of holy water, and insisting that patients stop taking their HIV medications. Now at least six are dead.

The broadcaster sent three undercover reporters to the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), in the south London Borough of Southwark.

 

All of them were told by pastors they could be healed.

The team – who are all HIV positive – had water sprayed in their faces as part of the healing process.

They were also shouted at and told it would rid them of the devil.

One of the pastors, Rachel Holmes, told Sky News, that SCOAN has a “100% success rate”, adding: “if symptoms such as vomiting or diarrhoea persist, it is actually a sign of the virus leaving the body”.

Except that’s diarrhea and vomiting aren’t a sign that HIV is rocketing out of your body because Christ commands it to. No, those are signs you are dying of HIV. 

Multiple investigations into the – we’re just going to go ahead and play fortune teller here for a second – criminal actions these churches are engaged in.

In addition to the deaths that have been reported, a case of HIV transmission has been documented by the boyfriend of a male parishioner who stopped HIV treatment after being “cured” by his pastor.

Mariah Yates "Justin Beiber 'Mommy" faces charges

LAS VEGAS -- A San Diego woman who claims pop star Justin Bieber fathered her 3-month-old son has a court date in Las Vegas on allegations she slapped an ex-boyfriend.

Court records show 20-year-old Mariah Yeater faces a bench trial Dec. 12 on a misdemeanor battery charge that could get her six months in jail and a $1,000 fine. A police report says Yeater slapped her 18-year-old ex-boyfriend Dec. 21, 2010. The two were arguing about a window broken on the car of the his new girlfriend. The case was first reported by TMZ. Yeater's lawyer in the battery case, John Spilotro, says she pleaded not guilty, and he declined to comment further. Yeater attended school in Las Vegas before withdrawing from 10th grade in 2008. She is suing the 17-year-old Bieber in California, seeking a paternity test and child support.

Texas KDAF-TV has an interview with Burke Burnett that gay man who last week was stabbed, beaten, and thrown onto a lit fire.

Three suspects are now in custody.  Daniel Martin, James Mitchell Laster and Micky Joe Smith are being held on $250,000 bond each.
Reno’s mayor William Heuberger calls the attack appalling. He says his sympathy goes to the victim and no one deserves this kind of treatment. The penalties could be increased to include a hate crime. “At the end of the day, the jury will make a finding that it qualifies as a hate crime or if the judge will make that finding”, said Burnett’s attorney Dan Haslam.


 

Undercover Newark Cop Touched Himself And Fondled Masseuse During Sting Operation

Police in Newark, N.J., will implement a new protocol for sting operations after an undercover vice cop pleasured himself and fondled a masseuse during a prostitution bust at a massage parlor.

After being offered a "full massage" by a 22-year-old woman in a Bloomfield Avenue parlor on Sept. 28, the detective -- who was wearing a wire -- stripped down to his underwear, paid the woman $80 and touched himself while putting his hand on the masseuse's breast, according to police documents obtained by The Star-Ledger.

Law enforcement officials reportedly burst into the massage parlor and arrested two women for promoting prostitution and narcotics charges.

The incident might raise eyebrows, but Newark Police Director Samuel DeMaio told the paper that the officer wasn't acting with "bad intentions."

"There is no department protocol in place for what to do in an undercover vice operation. And that's what we're going to change," said DeMaio. "Looking at it, certainly, there's no bad intentions here on (the officer's) part. I just don’t think he was prepped properly."

DeMaio placed the six detectives involved in the sting on administrative duty, according to Newsday.

News of the botched raid comes as the Newark Police Department faces heightened scrutiny.

Earlier this year, the Justice Department launched a federal investigation into the police force over years of allegations of misconduct. The investigation comes after the city laid off 162 officers citing budget constraints.

Brandon McInerney To Be Retried As An Adult, Hate Crime Charge Dropped

Prosecutors announced today that they will be retrying teenage murderer Brandon McInerney as an adult for the murder of Larry King of Green Junior High and with no hate crime embellishment to the charges. A mistrial was declared last month after some jurors refused to convict McInerney as an adult. Those jurors have since formed a support group for McInerney.

Superior Court Judge Charles Campbell set a Nov. 21 trial date, according to Fox, but it's unclear if it will be held in Ventura County. The first trial was moved to Los Angeles County due to pretrial publicity. McInerney was 14 in February 2008, when he is accused of killing King at E.O. Green Junior High School during a computer lab class. Prosecutors contend McInerney embraced a white supremacist philosophy that sees homosexuality as an abomination. Police found Nazi-inspired drawings and artifacts at his house, and a white supremacist expert testified at trial the hate-filled ideology was the reason for the killing.

Three of Jamey Rodemeyer cahrged with hate crime

14-year-old Jamey Rodemeyer deserves better.

Just days after word spread that the bullies who had harassed and threatened Jamey Rodemeyer to death chanted “We’re glad you’re dead” during a dedication to him at the Williamsville High School’s homecoming dance, Amherst police have announced that they plan to charge at least three teens with hate crimes.
Thank. God.

Police said Thursday crimes may have been committed against Jamey while he was a student in the Williamsville school district.

 

The Amherst Police Department’s Special Victims Unit said it will determine whether to charge some students with harassment, cyber-harassment or hate crimes, ABC News reported.

District officials said they’re cooperating with the investigation.

Three students in particular appear to have been involved.

Meanwhile, President Obama is rumored to be crafting a Teflon-strength anti-bullying law that will make it absolutely clear that this sort of behavior is not only unacceptable, but illegal. Bullies, online of off, will face criminal charges for their culpability in the anguish and deaths of their victims.

At least four lives will be absolutely destroyed by this ugly incident. Jamey’s tormentors will have plenty of time behind bars to contemplate whether or not bullying their classmate to death, and throwing their own lives away, was worth it.
