Betsy Johnson Newest Fall 2011Collection

What I simply love about Betsy Johnson is that she combines the Gothic with the simply divine.  That of course translates into the divine itelf not counting the actual fabrics that Betsy uses.  What I also love about Betsy is her use of wild colors, wild prints and just the sheer playfulness that is always Betsy Johnson.  Nice seeing fur in this showing although I am not sure PETA approves.

Dreams of Wonderland---new poetry

Prose poetry for my Intro to Creative Writing class.....

Dreams of Wonderland
A button on a vest, is that a white rabbit? Tonight I bundle China white. The pain as never before from blue heavens rain. Barbiturates always in a hurry, my body always in need. The buzzing of red and blues. Is the white rabbit’s jacket yellow? The dope says “Maryann get my gloves and my fan.” White sugars the ecstasy of candy flipping. Niven Mc Twisp says “No more teas, only a business man’s lunch Maryann you bitch.”

The blue caterpillar sits on the magic mushroom calling forth the California sunshine by asking “Who are you?” The simplest of answers my reply “Just Maryanne you see.” Nearby blue frogs tripper away, someone finally being friendly more so than Absolem. Those frogs putting gold dust on my feet before the path I take. The road dope leads to Tweedledee and Tweedledum who carry hard candy in their pockets they speak of a walrus and the carpenter who become blue cheer goofball dealers on the black road to euphoria.

The gong of freebase violence. She screams to me “Off with her head.” Ungovernable passion of rope window panes. My soul lost in its haze of flamingo croquet in Jamaican jive stick pocket rockets. Iracebeth, in blindness and fury, asks “If I direct the upper winds or am I just not a witch?”

The lacing of the Queen of Hearts, I let her rave and channel till my skin is popping. A tyrant to burn out bleeding from the depths of her purple heart. She casts me out no mere Maryann. No more laughing gas, the electric Kool-Aid stand has closed. This trip is wearing off. I must look through the looking glass. Just a simple mere Alice once more, shit .

Lady Gagawears condom inspired dress on GMA ro promote safesex

Lady Gaga's fashion choices often come without explanations, but the pop star offered what some would say was a partly-bizarre, partly-innovative reason for her latest wacky outfit on "Good Morning America" Thursday.

Dressed in a nude-colored latex ensemble, Gaga revealed that "today was a latex condom inspired outfit because we had to talk about safe sex."  Well G-d bless you Lady Gaga in my opinion.
The outfit accordingto Lady Gaga related directly to the singer's work as a spokesperson for MAC's Viva Glam  Cosmetics campaign, which advocates for HIV/AIDS prevention.
During her interview, Gaga said she thinks her "little monsters" are supportive of her efforts. "I know my fans very well and they think it's cool to be aware about sex, aware about the world and aware about things like HIV and AIDS and protecting themselves," she explained.
Gaga revealed on 'GMA' that her mother taught her about safe sex at a young age.

For $14.50 each, fans can purchase a lip gloss and lipstick designed by the "Born This Way" songstress, with all the proceeds going to Viva Glam's efforts.
Gaga revealed that her goal is to bring in $50 million - $16 more than she raised last year.
"MAC doesn't just represent one kind of a woman or one kind of man. They represent all of us and they herald identity in such a powerful way," the singer said.

Ok kids you have to admit this fashion move on Lady Gaga's part took HUGE NERVE but you know something.....G-d bless her.  She is talking about something that seems lke many are not talking about here lately and while some may find her outfit obsence, outrageous, over the top, you know something.....they are going to remember it!!!
"I really hope ... we can really make more people aware of how we can protect the future generation," she added.

Justin Beiber on Rolling Stone Cover

Justin Bieber has been uncomfortable talking publicly about girlfriend Selena Gomez, but he apparently has no problem discussing sex which seemsto be the case with his newest Interview held with Rolling Stone.
"I don't think you should have sex with anyone unless you love them," the 16-year-old  has declared in an interview featured in the March 3 issue of Rolling Stone, which is available on shelves now.

Although despite his strong Christian background, the teen sensation didn't say he's against pre-marital sex.  "I think you should just wait for the person you're ... in love with," he told the magazine when asked about abstinence.  Carrying the conversation even further on the issue of homosexuality, Bieber said, "It's everyone's own decision to do that. It doesn't affect me and shouldn't affect anyone else."

But on the topic of abortion that is a whole different matter. "I really don't believe in abortion," he revealed. "I think [an embryo] is a human. It's like killing a baby" and while he thinks it's "really sad" for a woman to become pregnant after being raped, he noted that "everything happens for a reason."  "I don't know how that would be a reason," he conceded. "I guess I haven't been in that position, so I wouldn't be able to judge that."

The Canadian singer also tackled another hot-button issue for many: healthcare in the United States.
"We go to the doctor, and we don't need to worry about paying him, but [in the U.S.], your whole life, you're broke because of medical bills," he said. "My bodyguard's baby was premature, and now he has to pay for it. In Canada, if your baby's premature, he stays in the hospital as long as he needs to, and then you go home."

If it seems strange for this teenage singer to talk about such adult issues, but let us for one minute consider that he's hardly a typical teen in hardly typical teenager circumstances.

"I hate paparazzi," Bieber told the magazine. "They're stalkers with a camera. If someone's following you, that's automatically a crime, but if they have a camera, it's okay? I don't agree with that at all."
He also doesn't attempt to understand his fans' sometimes odd or unusal behavior, namely their obsession with his every sungle move.

"I really don't know why they're acting that way," the crooner admitted. "And you know what? I don't think about it. My attitude is, why ask questions when things are going so well? Ain't no questions that should be asked in this situation! They love me, and that's it."

But Bieber said he also knows that their love may not last forever.
"I don't think of myself as powerful. If anything, my fans are powerful," he said. "It's all in their hands. If they don't buy my albums, I go away."

Mucinex Made Man Kill Gay Roommate?

A man accused of murdering his gay roommate told a 911 operator that the damage he did to the victim was so extensive his body and face had become unrecognizable.
Michael Anderson, 19, called 911 to report that he had killed his roommate, Steven Starr, according to the Hickory Daily Record in Hickory, N.C.
Catawba County Sheriff's Department captain Joel Fish said Anderson shot Starr with a shotgun and a pistol, then hacked his torso with an ax. Anderson then also carved words into Starr's body.
When the 911 operator asked why the attack occurred, he said it was because Starr was gay. They met at a gay club, where Anderson reportedly told Starr he is straight but came to the club to experiment.
“I met him and went to his house and he took me in and I turned straight again," he told the operator. "And he wanted to touch me and stuff and I wouldn’t let him, and he kept trying. And I waited until he went to sleep and then I shot him three times. And I mutilated him very badly and I’m sorry, I’m sorry. Oh God, please help me.”
He added that he overdosed on Mucinex DM, which "makes him feel a little weird," he said.
Anderson was arrested Monday after the 911 call and made his first court appearance Wednesday. He is being held without bond.

Newest Poetry

This came last night while trying to finish reading "The Lonely Well" by Radclyffe Hall

From our faraway childhood homes
Raised in love and glory
From the womb we came
Born this way
No choosing of our own, but divine plan

What knew we of difference
Of the branding in our hearts
The searing of our minds
That mad us different in our love
When were we really aware of it
Can we remember when we found the words

I am sure we can easily remember
When others saw the branding of our hearts
The voices of hatred began
During recess, on the ride home on the bus
Your a faggot, sissy queer boy
Does you mother know your a queen

The scars are numerous
The burden a heavy weight to bear
It did get only worse
Others moved away cutting all ties
The past forgotten

Moving to big cities
New York City, Cleveland, San Fransisco
Palm Springs, Washington D.C.
Our trip through the rainbow
To become friends of Dorothy
Filling our lives with Pride

Some took action, became involved
Stonewall, ACT UP, Queer Nation
Others ran for office and held seats
G-d bless you Harvey Milk
Drag queens who threw bricks
Our brothers fighting for research

Some of us destroyed ourselves
To many trips to drown our sorrows
The bars, the booze, the pills
Others who had endless parades
Of men in our beds needing no names
No questions asked no answers needed

Amidst all the rampant sex
Of fearless faceless frenzy fucking
A demon entered our lives
The senseless butcher
My brothers, my brothers all dead
Our passions fire died

Regan said nothing for years
One complex drug was all we had
The brave, the strong, the beautiful
Became the withering, the dead, the lost
Our Ozian cities hit the hardest
No mere Emerald City dream anymore

Nearly thirty years have passed
Our history at times forgotten
Brothers stories take to the grave
Locked in wooden caskets
Buried under the Western castle
Was it our wickedness this we caused

Have we forgot the price
We have painfully paid to be
Who we simply are
Bisexual Boys
Lesbian Ladies
Transsexual Folk

Gay is more than happy
This mush is true
Our history full and rich
Of great joy and success
Tremendous loss and unspeakable pain
The lessons we have learned

The story we MUST share
I urge you with all my might
Be vocal, be diligent, be heard
Hide no more in our closets
It will get better
The fight has only just begun

So much to do
To be accepted
To fully and freely love
To make the difference
For those that follow
It's all we can leave behind

There's no place like home
Home is where the heart is
There's no place like home
Such a place does exist
There's no place like home
Come on Toto, let's go HOME

Nicholas K---Fall 2011

If you read the post I did on the Perry Ellis Fall 2011 men's wear line then you will appreciate what I am going to say here.  Because when it comes to try to convey to you what I wanted to say Nicholas K has done with the Men's wear portion of this collection.  I am currently in a Draping 2 class at Kent State University, which by the way I love.  But after the third class I sat wondering if draping had been done in men's wear.  At that time I simply did not have an answer.  Thankfully Nicholas K does draping in men's wear and in my opinion he does it beautifully without the finished product being to "feminine".  He achieves what I was trying to say in that Perry Ellis post.  The classic but with some form of twist to it and that I ADORE! Well hopefully there will be more of this kind of thinking in other men's collections.  Until next time I am so glad we had this time together!

Perry Ellis Men's Wear FALL 2011

I have to go on record here and simply say that I do like the simplicity of what this collection is. While a lot of the collection are items that could be from any other designer line, from any other year what I do admire is the timelessness that is this years Perris Ellis Collection. While a fan of the clean, classic, timelessness that can be men's wear I also adore the edgy, the avante garde that can be some men's wear. If only some of the more "classic" designers could get some of that "edginess" and make it relevant to what could be the reinvention of the classic.

I am sure some of you may be scratching your heads at those statements but doesn't it seem to some of you that men's wear can be and normally is a rather "safe" palette of ideas? I am not saying it is right or wrong what I wonder is why is that? Why is it at the appearance level that men's clothing basically is the same ideas over and over again for the last fifty some years? There are those that push the comfort level of men's wear but in my opinion we need more.  Can you imagine Betsy Johnson doing men's wear?  What I wouldn't do to have her design men's wear.

Can it be men are so comfortable with the familiar, the tried, the true that they dare leave all of that comfort to be more forward in their thinking. We need more men to embrace just even the simplest of things---COLOR. That in itself would turn men's wear on its head. Why can't we add elements of women's wear "thoughts/ideas" into men's wear? I am not talking men in dresses but some of the aesthetics's, lines, colors a more gender neutral thinking. Just a thought, but is that thought the demasculination of men over all? Well until next time I am so glad we had this time together.

Newest Poetry----"Do I....."

Of deep unspoken longings
To but gaze upon you across the room
Of masculine marble like manly flesh
Oh to taste his sweet savory dew like kisses
Of the pale violet sunlight on Christopher Street

To hold his hand in mine
The private musical of us in my mind
The smell of ruggedness as sweet perfume
Of what could be the quiet joy of brotherhood
Let him just once kiss me on Halstead Street
With the touch of his lips

My own warrior rebel
That our desire should be shared could
Lead to our wholeness once out of Eden's gate
Fairy tales do come true on Castor Street
Guide my heart out of my desert of loneliness

Once I have tasted his sweet savory kisses
Some say rebellion began
Hearts filled with the camp of Christmas
Can what we share be but the higher law
Would the fruit of this be sweet to taste

The pinnacle of spirit on Fire Island
To be but more than friends dare I say
To desire the crooked road
To our iniquities den in Hell's Kitchen
Our protection of what is right, just and good

Passion flung out of eternal fires
My soft beautiful vaporous being
Bitter bitchy queens at the door mocking
That this feeling is mine and I am his
With no doubt or uncertainty at all

Can this be sweeter than wine
Do I dare gaze into your eyes
Speak my name to you
Or do I stand
Quiet, unspoken delights
Never revealed

Lady Gaga: March US Vogue

Well once again the media machine is in a tail spin over the ever fabulous Lady Gaga.  Of course there is all this talk about the newest release "Born This Way".  Most people love it or hate it, some are even comparing it to some of Madonna's earliest work.  While for me I can see some comparison Lady Gaga and her songs stand fully on their own.  But that is just my opinion.  You can find the Youtube post of what the song sounds like here along with the lyrics. I mean after all "don't be a drag..."

Anyway the March USA issue of Vogue has her imperial Gaga-ness on the cover in a dutch boyesque pink wig.  While I love the wig, the no eyebrow thing is a little off for me, I am not sure exactly why but it just sits kind of funny. I know my thing and not everybody elses thing---moving on.  My favorite photographs though have to be of her wearing Alexander McQueen in the "garden settings".  Those pictures leave this Gaga worshipping gay boy speechless and kids that is a hard thing to do at times .  Know all I have to do is get her first two CD's ---anybody have any idea when the newest  CD is out?
